Philippine Ambassador to Singapore hosts Iftar

Ambassador Antonio A. Morales led officials of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore in hosting an “iftar” on Tuesday, 20 June 2017 at the official residence in honour of the members of Muslim community. The “iftar” is the breaking of the fast done after the Maghrib time daily during the holy fasting month of Ramadan. The guests included the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam; diplomats from Bangladesh, Indonesia and Malaysia; representatives of Darul Arqam (Muslim Converts Association, which include some Filipinos), the Maranao group and also the general Filipino community in Singapore. In his remarks, Ambassador Morales mentioned that the gathering is the Embassy’s gesture of solidarity with the Muslim community during the Ramadan. Among others, he expressed hope that everyone will join hands and in prayer for the early resolution of the situation in Marawi City.
