Special Envoy Jose de Venecia speaks on One Belt, One Road

The Philippine Special Envoy to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and Intercultural Dialogue, former Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. came to Singapore to speak at the “One Belt, One Road (OBOR) – Alternate Perspective Forum”, jointly organized by the Global Citizen Forum, Universal Peace Foundation and the Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the on 10 August 2017.

The former Speaker was warmly received by Ambassador Antonio A. Morales who hosted him and some close friends to dinner at the Philippine official residence. Other officials of the Philippine Embassy and the attached agencies joined Ambassador Morales in welcoming the Special Envoy.

In his remarks at the Forum, the former Speaker talked of a third silk route to further enlarge the OBOR. He also noted that OBOR opens up opportunities for peace, joint ventures, exploration and trade and development that countries should take advantage to their benefit.
