Ambassador Antonio A. Morales attended the closing ceremony of the 2016 S. Rajaratnam Endowment Youth Model Conference (2016 SRE-YMAC) at the Singapore Polytechnic Auditorium on 6 October 2016. The annual Youth Model ASEAN Conference (YMAC), initiated by the Singapore Polytechnic in 2012, is a simulation of an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Conference, where participants from all ten ASEAN member states take on roles as diplomats to carry out research, network and engage in dialogues on issues that impact the development and growth of the region. The topics revolve around the domains of Arts & Culture, Economics, Environment, Security and Society. The programme also includes designed segments to commemorate the work and contributions of Mr. Rajaratnam and the other pioneers of ASEAN, as well as learning journeys and social contribution activities that are related to the topics under discussion. Thirteen (13) college and university students participated in this year’s conference. Acting Minister for Education (Schools) Ng Chee Meng was Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony.
