On Sunday, 6 August 2017, representatives of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore joined their counterparts from the Embassy Japan and other ASEAN diplomatic missions at the joint Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) International/ASEAN Project 3050 Social Contribution Day (SCA) at the Sunshine Welfare Mission (SWAMI) Home. Senior Minister of State for Defense and Foreign Affairs Dr. Osman Maliki was guest-of-honour. Project 3050 is an initiative endorsed during the recent SSEAYP International General Assembly in Iloilo in April 2017 to be conducted in all ASEAN Member States as part of commemorative activities to mark the 30th anniversary of SSEAYP and the 50th anniversary of ASEAN, hence Project 3050. SSEAYP International Singapore and the Embassy of Japan have chosen the residents of the SWAMI Home as the first beneficiaries of the SCA programme in Singapore, which primarily took the form of a cultural extravaganza by teams from Japan and the participating ASEAN missions. The Philippine Embassy brought along volunteer dancers from the Kultura Performance Pte. Ltd. who entertained the audience with the traditional tinikling dance. The event was also an opportunity for the representatives of the Philippine Embassy to meet and thank the Filipino staff of SWAMI Home for providing good service to the residents.
