The Committee on Housing and Urban Development of the Philippine House of Representatives undertook a study tour in Singapore on 27 – 30 October 2015. The group included Representative Alfredo Benitez, 3^rd District, Negros Occidental, Chairperson, Committee on Housing and Urban Development; Representative Winston Castelo, 2^nd District, Quezon City, Vice-chairperson, Committee on Housing and Urban Development and Chairperson of Committee on Metro Manila Development; Representative Raneo Abu, 2^nd District Batangas, Vice-chairperson, Committee on Housing and Urban Development; Representative Roel Batocabe, Party list AKO BICOL, Member, Committee on Housing and Urban Development; Representative Juan Revilla, OFW Party list, Member, Committee on Housing and Urban Development; and Representative Rene Relampagos, 1^st District, Bohol, Chairperson, Committee on Tourism. The objective of the study tour is to gain significant knowledge on the best practices of Singapore in terms of housing and urban planning with focus on policies and financing programs. The Philippine Embassy arranged meetings for the group with officials of the Singapore Housing Development Board, Centre for Liveable Cities, Urban Redevelopment Authority and Central Provident Fund.
