28 July 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) clearances, successfully organized its 8th repatriation flight on 27 July 2020 that brought home 325 Filipinos to the Philippines amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Scoot TR 1390 flight departed Singapore at 1:45 PM and arrived in Manila on the same day at 5:00 PM.
The flight also brought 600 units of oxygen concentrators donated by Temasek Foundation to the Philippines as part of its continuing assistance for PH’s COVID-19 response.
This brings the total number of repatriated Filipinos assisted by the Embassy to 1,739 since repatriation flights were organized starting in April.
The Embassy has so far also coordinated the processing of CAAP clearances for 15 privately chartered flights to repatriate stranded Filipino seafarers in Singapore. A total of 705 Filipino seafarers managed to go home through these flights chartered by their local manning agencies.
The Philippine Embassy is hoping to organize another repatriation flight in the next few weeks. Interested Filipinos are advised to regularly check the official Facebook page of the Embassy for the details once confirmed and how to sign up. END
