Philippine Embassy joins inaugural Societal Leadership Summit

The Philippine Embassy joined the Societal Leadership Summit on 26-27 November 2015 at the Singapore Management University (SMU).  The inaugural Summit was organized by the SMU Institute of Societal Leadership. The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps as well as the business and the academic community. The panelists included top SMU officials as well as prominent individuals from different countries in Asia including SMU Chairman Mr. Ho Kwan Ping, Executive Chairman of Banyan Tree Holdings; Mr. Rev. Fr. Jose Ramon Villarin, President of Ateneo de Manila University; and Mr. Tony Meloto, Founder of Gawad Kalinga. According to organizers, the Summit aimed to gather leaders in Asia to engage in a meaningful exchange of ideas that is expected to lead to greater commitment to the region and greater collaboration across sectors to meet the region’s most pressing societal needs.  Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Antonio A. Morales discussed investment opportunities in PHL with Mr. Ho at the sidelines of the summit.
