REMINDER AGAINST THIRD-COUNTRY RECRUITMENT SCHEMES

The Philippine Embassy continues to receive disturbing allegations of illegal recruitment emanating from Singapore for work in other countries.

In this regard, the Philippine Embassy reiterates its reminder to our kababayans in Singapore to exercise extreme caution when encountering advertisements, whether through online platforms (Facebook, WhatsApp) or by word of mouth, which promise higher-paying jobs in another country.

Under this scheme, recruiters target Overseas Filipino Workers already deployed in their destination countries, including Singapore, with employment opportunities in Canada, Poland, Germany, Malta, Mongolia, and other countries.

BEWARE OF INDIVIDUALS USING THE NAME OF THE PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN RECRUITMENT SCHEME

It has come to our attention that certain individuals are using the name and logo of the Philippine Embassy, posing as Embassy employees, and/or alleging to have connections to the Embassy, in recruiting Filipinos and offering employment in Singapore.

The recruiters will then require payment of exorbitant application fees and later on will be unresponsive after receiving the payment from the interested applicants.

Please be informed that the Philippine Embassy is not involved in any kind of recruitment activities, nor in facilitating the hiring process for a third party, including conducting interviews and accepting employment application fees. The Embassy has also neither authorized any person nor availed of any services of third party recruitment agencies for Filipinos seeking employment in Singapore.
