PRESS RELEASE | PR-253-2025

Singapore, 6 October 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, together with its attached agencies, supported the 2025 Bayanihan Walk organized by the Philippine Bayanihan Society Singapore (PBSS) on Sunday, 5 October 2025. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Bayanihan Walk, which was first held on 31 May 2015 at Labrador Park.

True to its theme, “Magbayanihan sa Bayanihan”, the Filipino Community, sponsors and social partners worked hand-in-hand with the PBSS in organizing the successful event. Various Filipino community groups volunteered as marshals and assisted the participants during the walk, while others led warm-up and cool down exercises, and donated raffle prizes. Over 500 participants joined the walk.

Participants assembled at the Bayanihan Centre at Pasir Panjang and walked together for three (3) kilometers towards Hort Park and back. The walk was followed by a lively program featuring performances, raffle draws, and games for the Filipino community.

The Bayanihan Walk, held annually, also serves as a fundraising event, with proceeds going towards the upkeep and community activities at the Bayanihan Center, which is funded by the Philippine Government and managed and operated by the PBSS.

Embassy personnel and partner agencies including the Migrant Workers Office, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and the Office of the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché, joined the event to show support for the Filipino community in Singapore, share messages of encouragement, and reaffirm their commitment to support and assist kababayans.

The PBSS is a registered nonprofit organization that manages and operates the Philippine Bayanihan Centre in Singapore. It was formally established in August 2001 to serve the Filipino community, particularly overseas workers, through education, cultural engagement, and social support. /END
