SINGAPORE, 9 May 2025 – On 8 May 2025, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig attended the opening ceremony of the special exhibit, “Fernando Zóbel: Order is Essential” at the National Gallery in Singapore.
The exhibit, which will run from 9 May to 30 November 2025, features over 200 pieces of art works, including paintings, sketches, prints, photographs, and archival materials, of the life, work, life and legacy of Filipino-Spanish transcontinental modernist artist Fernando Zóbel (1924–1984).
This landmark exhibition at the National Gallery follows acclaimed runs at Madrid’s Museo del Prado in 2022 and Manila’s Ayala Museum in 2024.
Ambassador Macaraig also joined the VIP Tour, led by the exhibition curators Patrick Flores, Clarissa Chikiamco, Manuel Fontán del Junco, and Felipe Pereda, alongside a select group of diplomats, the Ayala Museum representatives, art patrons and members of Mr. Zóbel’s family.
