24 February 2026, Singapore – On 23 February 2026, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore warmly welcomed participants of Republic Polytechnic’s inaugural Travel and Learn (TnL) Programme to the Philippines. Led by Mr. Christopher Tapia, Senior Lecturer at Republic Polytechnic (RP), the delegation met with the Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, Medardo G. Macaraig, along with key Embassy personnel.

The TnL Program is designed as an immersive, industry-focused learning initiative to help prospective Singaporean investors gain deeper insights into the Philippine business landscape. It also seeks to foster meaningful collaboration and open pathways for future business opportunities between The Philippines and Singapore.  RP, a post-secondary education institution and statutory board under the purview of the Ministry of Education of  Singapore, spearheads this pioneering effort.

Ambassador Macaraig shared perspectives on the Philippines’ competitiveness and economic edge, highlighting government initiatives that facilitate investments. He underscored legislative reforms that enhance the country’s attractiveness by offering improved tax incentives, streamlined approval processes, and expanded eligibility to both foreign and local investors to ease doing business and spur economic growth.

Second Secretary and Consul Jhullie Anne Beniahan, together with Ms. Luz Wendy Noble of the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC)-Singapore, also provided briefings on the Philippines’ economic landscape and investment opportunities, emphasizing the country’s growth potential and compelling reasons for Singaporean investors to engage.

The visit concluded with a tour of the Embassy’s Sentro Rizal, where participants experienced the richness of Philippine cultural heritage, adding depth to their understanding of the country beyond its economic strengths.

As part of the overseas component of the program, participants will travel to Manila, Philippines from 04 to 06 March 2026 for curated industry visits and business dialogues. These engagements are designed to identify and leverage opportunities within the Philippine innovation and technology development landscape, while building meaningful networks with key stakeholders to support future collaboration opportunities.
