Singapore, 22 August 2025 – Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig welcomed Philippine pop phenomenon SB19 today, 22 August, for a courtesy call at the Philippine Embassy, ahead of the group’s much-anticipated Simula at Wakas world tour concert taking place this coming Sunday, 24 August, at the Arena@Expo.

SB19, composed of members Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin, together with their entourage, were welcomed by the Ambassador and Embassy officials for an exchange of remarks, and a Q&A session.

Ambassador Macaraig warmly welcomed SB19 back to Singapore, recalling their past performance in the city-state in November 2022, where SB19 played at the ASEAN Gala Night and at their first international concert held at the Resorts World Singapore as part of their Where You At (WYAT) tour. He expressed delight that the group has since grown to command larger audiences, and noted that their upcoming concert at the Arena@Expo is their biggest international show to date.

The Ambassador underscored that SB19 is not only the pride of Filipinos, but also of ASEAN and Southeast Asia, as their artistry demonstrates the global competitiveness of regional talent. He commended the group for continuously elevating their music across various genres. The Ambassador also extended appreciation to SB19’s producers and the entire concert team for their efforts in bringing the group back to Singapore and for giving both Filipino and international fans the opportunity to experience their music and artistry.

In reply, SB19 thanked the Embassy for its support for Filipino artists, and spoke about songs that have left a lasting mark on them. They also expressed excitement in collaborating with fellow artists in the ASEAN region, starting with the upcoming release of the Indonesian version of their song “MaPa”. When asked, their message to overseas Filipinos in Singapore was to consider finding ways to reunite with their families, echoing the theme of their new song “Time”.

As Sentro Rizal and National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Youth Ambassadors, SB19 also visited Sentro Rizal-Singapore. The visit concluded with a lunch reception where SB19 and their delegation enjoyed Singaporean favorites.

The visit underscored the vital role of artists like SB19 in cultural diplomacy, using music as a bridge between peoples while bringing pride to Filipinos around the world.

Tickets to SB19’s Simula at Wakas Singapore concert are still available and may be booked through official ticketing channels. /END
