Singapore, 17 July 2026 – Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the new Philippine Chancery at 20 Nassim Road Singapore, marking a significant milestone in the Embassy’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic presence and enhancing services to the Filipino community abroad.

The President, accompanied by First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, inspected the new Chancery and met business executives at its halls. This Chancery project is a testament to the Philippine government’s dedication to providing dignified, accessible, and responsive facilities for Filipinos abroad.
At the Philippine Chancery, President Marcos Jr. and the First Lady met with the members of the Future Economic Cooperation Council (FECC). This meeting continued discussions from the previous day’s GEC East event, organized by the FECC.
Following the FECC meeting, President Marcos engaged in another high-level dialogue with leading investors and business executives at the Embassy’s Sinagtala Hall. This roundtable discussion, convened under the Embassy’s Sampaguita Dialogue Series, provided a platform to highlight the Philippines recent achievement of attaining Upper-Middle Income Country status – underscoring its stronger economic performance and expanding investment capabilities.

The Dialogue, co-organized with the Milken Institute, a globally recognized non-profit think tank, highlighted the Philippines’ commitment to fostering deeper economic partnership, showcasing its resilience, competitiveness and readiness to collaborate with global investors in driving innovation and sustainable growth.
Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig remarked, “We are deeply honored and privileged that President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos visited the Philippine Embassy during their Working Visit to Singapore. This visit is a milestone and an affirmation of the trust of the President in the Embassy. To our recollection, President Marcos is the only incumbent Philippine President to have ever visited the Philippine Embassy in Singapore in its entire history. The Embassy in Singapore is, likely, the first and only Philippine Embassy to be visited by the First Couple since assuming office on 30 June 2022.”
At the Embassy, the President and First Lady also signed commemorative photographs marking the completion of the new Embassy’s building. This signing completes the Chancery’s redevelopment cycle. Three years ago, in September 2023, the President signed the architectural design perspective and discussed construction plans.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos were in Singapore for a Working Visit on 14-16 July 2026. While in Singapore, President Marcos called on Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, met with investors and business executives, and addressed a private roundtable co-hosted by the Embassy with Milken Institute. The First Lady also engaged global business leaders and dignitaries at the Global Economic Cooperation (GEC) East Summit. END.
