PRESS RELEASE | PR-284-2026
SINGAPORE, 4 September 2026 – The Philippine Overseas Construction Board (POCB), an implementing board of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP) under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), led the First Philippine Construction Business Mission to Singapore, held on the sidelines of the Built Environment Expo (BEX) Asia 2026, from 2 to 4 September.
BEX Asia 2026, ASEAN’s leading built‑environment exhibition, brought together developers, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, technology providers, and other industry players to showcase innovations in digitalization, sustainability, and construction productivity.
The mission aims to promote Philippine capabilities in construction, architecture, engineering, and design services outsourcing, while facilitating business matching and partnership‑building with Singapore stakeholders.
As part of the mission, POCB organized the Philippine Forum: “Build with the Philippines: A Forum on Partnership Opportunities with Singapore,” on 3 September at BEX Asia 2026. The forum showcased Philippine expertise in construction, architecture, engineering, digital design, and related professional services, while fostering collaboration opportunities with Singapore‑based developers, contractors, and technology providers.
In his remarks at the forum, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig identified the built environment as a promising area for translating the longstanding Philippines-Singapore partnership into concrete economic opportunities. He noted the growing demand across ASEAN for modern infrastructure, sustainable development, digitalization, and greater resilience.
The Ambassador emphasized that the objective should go beyond Philippine companies seeking entry into the Singapore market. He encouraged Philippine and Singaporean firms to combine their expertise, technology, talent, and business networks to pursue opportunities in both countries and across the wider ASEAN region.
Beyond the forum, the delegation hosted a Philippine Information Booth and conducted one‑on‑one business meetings and other engagements with Singapore-based companies and industry stakeholders. These activities provided opportunities for Philippine firms to present their capabilities, understand potential partners’ requirements, and explore concrete areas for collaboration.
The mission also supports the broader internationalization of Philippine construction and professional services firms by connecting them with regional markets and potential partners. Through business-to-business engagement, Philippine companies can explore opportunities not only in Singapore but also in projects and business operations spanning the wider ASEAN market.
The Embassy likewise invites Singapore stakeholders to explore opportunities through the ongoing PHILCONSTRUCT Mindanao 2026 (3–5 September at SMX Convention Center Davao and SM Lanang Premier) and the upcoming PHILCONSTRUCT Visayas 2026 (26–28 November at SMX Convention Center Seaside Cebu). The PHILCONSTRUCT series serves as a premier platform for innovations in architecture, engineering, construction, interior design, and building technologies, linking local and international industry players. Interested stakeholders may obtain more information through the official website, PHILCONSTRUCT Events. (END)
