PHILIPPINES PARTICIPATES IN 9TH SINGAPORE INTERNATIONAL CYBER WEEK

SINGAPORE, 15 October 2024 – The Philippines, led by Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John E. Uy, attends the Opening of the 9th Singapore International Cyberweek (SICW) taking place from 15 to 17 October 2024 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.

Secretary Uy delivered the opening remarks and served as a panelist for the SICW High-Level Plenary Panel 2: Regulating the Tech Industry: Too Little, Too Late? He was joined by Mr. Jitin Prasada, India’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Electronics and Information Technology; Mr. Artur Lyukmanov, Russian Director of the Department of International Information Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cooperation in the Field of International Information Security;  and Dr. Carmit Yadit, Device Total Founder & Chief Executive Officer.


The panel was moderated by Mr. David Koh, Commissioner of Cybersecurity & Chief Executive (CE), Cyber Security Agency of Singapore.

In his remarks, Secretary Uy said that as we navigate this digital age, now is the time to establish guidelines and policy frameworks that will allow us to fully harness rapid technological advancements. 

The SICW, organized annually by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA), is Asia-Pacific’s most established cybersecurity event. Under the theme of “Trust and Security in the Digital Era”, SICW 2024 will drive critical conversations and partnerships to foster trust and enhance security in the digital and cyber domain, amid an increasingly fragmented global landscape.
