PRESS RELEASE | PR-252-2025

The Philippines has retained its Tier 1 ranking in the United States’ 2025 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report released by the US Department of State on 29 September 2025. This marks the 10th consecutive year of the Philippines’ serious and sustained efforts against trafficking.

The 2025 TIP report assesses countries’ anti-trafficking efforts. Those who fully meet the minimum standards under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 for the elimination of trafficking are placed on Tier 1.

Out of 188 governments assessed, only 33 countries obtained the Tier 1 ranking status. This includes the Philippines and Singapore, the only two ASEAN Member States who made it on the list. Singapore has maintained its Tier 1 for six consecutive years since 2020.

Congratulations, Philippines and Singapore!
