SINGAPORE, 30 April 2026 – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo Macaraig attended the signing ceremony of the Philippines–Singapore Implementation Agreement pursuant to Article 6 of the Paris Agreement  today, 30 April 2026.

The agreement was signed in a virtual ceremony by Philippine Department of Environment and Natural Resources Acting Secretary Juan Miguel T. Cuna and Singapore’s Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister‑in‑Charge of Trade Relations, Grace Fu.

Held during ASEAN Climate Week and a week after Earth Day, this milestone underscores the shared commitment of the Philippines and Singapore to advance sustainable development and climate action through innovative carbon credit collaboration.

The Implementation Agreement reinforces the Philippines–Singapore MOU on Carbon Credits Collaboration signed in August 2024. Notably, this is the Philippines’ first agreement of its kind, while for Singapore it is the 11th overall and its third within ASEAN, a reflection of the growing momentum for regional cooperation on climate action.
