12 November 2025, Singapore — The Philippine Pavilion officially opens today at the 2025 Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), the world’s largest and most influential fintech event. Marking the 10th edition of the Festival, this year’s theme, “Technology Blueprint for the Next Decade of Finance,” spotlights how innovations in AI, Tokenization, and Quantum Technologies are transforming financial services. The Pavilion marks the Philippines’ continued commitment to digital innovation and financial technology as drivers of inclusive economic growth.

Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig led the opening ceremony of the Philippine Pavilion at the 2025 Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF) held at Hall 5 of the Singapore Expo. Joining Ambassador Macaraig were Mr. Lito Villanueva, Founding Chairman of FinTech Alliance.PH, and Mr. Sopnendu Mohanty Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Global Finance & Technology Network (GFTN) and the Chief FinTech Officer at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Macaraig highlighted the Philippines’ strengthened macro-financial position and applauded the country’s successful exit from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list earlier this year, signaling enhanced regulatory compliance and increased investor confidence.

Our fintech ecosystem today boasts over 300 companies spanning digital payments, lending, digital banking, wealthtech, and tokenization,” Ambassador Macaraig said. “Digital payments already account for over 57% of retail transactions by volume, a dramatic rise from just 1% in 2013. We are proud of our six licensed digital banks reaching millions of Filipinos, while innovative platforms are closing financing gaps for MSMEs.”

The Ambassador also emphasized the Philippines’ involvement in regional initiatives such as Project Nexus, aiming to enable seamless cross-border instant payments across ASEAN. He noted that these efforts align with ASEAN’s broader vision for regional payments interconnectivity, supporting financial inclusion and regional economic integration.

The Philippine Pavilion showcases leading fintech partners, including FinTech Alliance.PH, digital banks, start-ups, and innovators who embody the entrepreneurial dynamism and growing global investor confidence in the Philippines’ digital economy. The event provides a platform for collaboration with investors, regulators, and ASEAN partners.

As the Chair of ASEAN in 2026, the Philippines is honored to present our fintech sector’s ingenuity and resilience at this global forum,” the Ambassador stated. “We invite everyone to explore the Pavilion, meet our innovators, and discover why the Philippines is one of ASEAN’s most exciting fintech growth stories.”

The Singapore FinTech Festival 2025 runs from 12 to 14 November, bringing together thought leaders, policymakers, and technology pioneers to shape the future of finance. (END)
