PRESS RELEASE | PR-023-2026

26 January 2026, Singapore — Ahead of the celebration of Philippine National Arts Month, the Philippine Embassy in Singapore launched the first of its Tuloy Po Kayo! guided community tour of its newly reconstructed Chancery. The inaugural tour brought together members of the Filipino community for a morning centered on national pride, shared history, and Philippine art and heritage.

The program began with the Embassy’s weekly flag-raising ceremony held at the start of the workweek, an activity which affirms values of unity and service, among Filipinos overseas.

Participants then gathered at the Narra Circle, where they received a brief overview of the Embassy, and the long-standing diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Singapore. Guests familiar with the old building were especially nostalgic as they viewed archival photographs tracing the structure’s evolution over the decades.

Prominently situated along the driveway is the Narra sculpture by contemporary Filipino artist Jed Yabut, which was highlighted as both an artistic and symbolic focal point. Inspired by the Philippines’ national tree, the work speaks to resilience, quiet strength, and continuity—values mirrored in the Embassy’s role as a place of service and support for more than 220,000 Filipinos in Singapore.

The tour continued to the Sinagtala Hall, where guests learned about its name derived from sinag (rays of light) and tala (star), and its centerpiece that features a contemporary interpretation of the sun and stars of the Philippine flag.

The final stop was the Embassy’s public service area and Sentro Rizal Singapore, the latter formally relaunched on 9 January 2026. Conceived as an accessible cultural space, Sentro Rizal features curated artworks and design elements that reflect both Philippine heritage and contemporary expression. Highlights include representations of Dr. José Rizal, a cultural library, and flexible spaces intended for community and cultural activities.

The Philippine Embassy continues to open its doors to the public to discover the Chancery as a place of service, culture, and shared identity. Interested guests may book their visit through www.phinsg.com/tpkvisit./END
