PRESS RELEASE | PR-094-2026
SINGAPORE, 1 April 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore proudly joins the Filipino nation in celebrating Filipino Food Month (Buwan ng Kalutong Filipino) this April 2026, under the theme “Connected by Taste: The Filipino Food in the Flavors of ASEAN.”
Now in its eighth year, Filipino Food Month was established through Proclamation No. 469 s. 2018, which designates the month of April to celebrate the country’s rich culinary traditions and promote Filipino cuisine as a vital expression of national culture. The annual observance is spearheaded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Tourism (DOT), and the Philippine Culinary Heritage Movement (PCHM).
The 2026 theme highlights the Philippines’ shared culinary heritage with its ASEAN neighbors, while celebrating the unique flavors, traditions, and stories that continue to define Filipino food.
In support of this year’s national celebration, the Embassy is partnering with leading chefs and restaurants in Singapore to present a series of culinary events that spotlight Filipino gastronomy and creative talent such as:
- “Kain Tayo” at Feast Asia, Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel– A three-week-long Filipino buffet showcase featuring regional dishes in collaboration with Chef Edward Lim Esmero (9 to 26 April 2026)
- Lechon Diva Pop-Up at Redhouse Seafood, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel – A special dining collaboration highlighting the artistry of Dedet dela Fuente, the Philippines’ celebrated “Lechon Diva,” showcasing the Filipino mastery of roast pork and shared communal dining (03 March to 30 April 2026)
Through these collaborations, the Embassy aims to strengthen culinary diplomacy, deepen appreciation for Filipino food, and foster connections between Filipino and Singaporean communities through the universal language of flavor.
Stay tuned for more Filipino Food Month activities to be announced throughout April, including other collaborations, industry events and the launch of new digital initiatives to highlight Filipino food establishments in Singapore.
