PHILIPPINE EMBASSY CONGRATULATES NEW APEC SECRETARIAT EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

SINGAPORE, 16 November 2024 –   The Philippine Embassy in Singapore is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Eduardo Pedrosa as the new Executive Director of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Secretariat, a significant milestone for the Philippines and a proud moment for the Filipino community.

During the courtesy call made by Mr. Pedrosa, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig, extended heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Pedrosa who will assume the role and responsibilities at the APEC Secretariat in Singapore, for a three-year term. “This appointment underscores the global recognition of Filipino talent and leadership. It makes us very proud to see one of our own stepping into such an important position within the Asia-Pacific region,” remarked Ambassador Macaraig.

As Executive Director, Mr. Pedrosa will play a pivotal role in driving APEC’s agenda, fostering economic growth, and enhancing regional cooperation among member economies. The Philippines has been an active participant of APEC for 35 years and this leadership position further solidifies our commitment to promoting a free and open trade, sustainable development, and inclusive growth across the Asia-Pacific.
