25 October 2024, Singapore. Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig, together with Colonel Egberto O. Dacoscos, PA (GSC), Defense and Armed Forces Attache, warmly welcomed a delegation from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), in a courtesy call on 24 October 2024 at the Philippine Embassy in Singapore.
The delegation, led by Commodore Joel M. Simo-ag, PCG, visited Singapore from 20 to 25 October 2024 as part of the Coast Guard Officer Senior Executive Course (CGOSEC) Class 03-2024 Foreign Academic Travel. During their stay, the PCG delegates participated in discussions with their Singaporean counterparts on enhancing their strategic perspectives and strengthening cooperation in areas of shared interest, such as maritime security, humanitarian response, and operational best practices.
This visit underlined the commitment of both the Philippines and Singapore, which are celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties, to fostering stronger maritime ties and advancing shared goals in maritime safety and regional stability. Through programs such as CGOSEC, the PCG continues to develop its leadership capabilities and deepen its collaborative approach to addressing pressing maritime issues. (END).
