PH Embassy Ensures Safe Transit of Second Batch of Overseas Filipinos From Iran

SINGAPORE, 16 March 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, in line with its continuing commitment to assist Filipinos overseas who are in distress, extended assistance to repatriates from Tehran, Iran as they transited through Singapore on their way back to the Philippines. This effort was carried out in coordination with the Philippine Embassies in Tehran, Iran and Ankara, Türkiye, as well as the Consulate General in Istanbul, Türkiye. 

 

Upon the instruction of Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig, the Embassy deployed a composite team to provide the necessary support and assistance to the repatriates during their transit in Singapore.


The Embassy’s Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Team, in close coordination with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Singapore and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)-Singapore, facilitated the transit today of the second batch of repatriates comprising fourteen (14) Overseas Filipino nationals, who were safely evacuated from Iran to  Van, Türkiye with the assistance of concerned Philippine Foreign Service Posts amid the ongoing conflict in the region.

The Department of Foreign Affairs, along with its partner agencies, remains committed to providing assistance to kababayans in distress.  Filipinos seeking assistance are advised to contact the Philippine Embassies and Consulates General in their area through the contact numbers and official channels posted on its website and social media pages.
