PH Embassy Ensures Safe Transit of 9 Overseas Filipinos from Iran

SINGAPORE, 10 March 2026 – Upon coordination among the Philippine Embassies in Tehran, Iran and Ankara, Türkiye as well as the Consulate General in Istanbul,Türkiye, Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig instructed a composite team from the Embassy to assist repatriates from Tehran, Iran as they transit through Singapore on their way home to the Philippines.

The Embassy’s Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Team, in close coordination with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Singapore and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)-Singapore, facilitated the transit today of two batches comprising nine (9) Overseas Filipino nationals, five of whom  are minors aged between 2 and 14. 

The repatriates were among the eleven (11) overseas Filipinos who were safely evacuated from Iran to  Van, Türkiye with the assistance of concerned Philippine Foreign Service Posts amid the ongoing conflict in the region.

The Department of Foreign Affairs, along with its partner agencies, remains committed to providing assistance to kababayans in distress.  Filipinos seeking assistance are advised to contact the Philippine Embassies and Consulates General in their area through the contact numbers and official channels posted on its website and social media pages.
