SINGAPORE, 10 January 2024 –  Philippine Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo was hosted to dinner by his Singaporean counterpart, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan on 9 January 2025. The event marked the conclusion of Secretary Manalo’s official engagements in Singapore and provided an opportunity to deepen and reinforce the strong bilateral relationship between the Philippines and Singapore.

Both ministers had a candid and insightful exchange of views covering ASEAN cooperation, pressing global and regional challenges, and opportunities for strengthening Philippines-Singapore bilateral ties.

Secretary Manalo and Minister Balakrishnan highlighted the importance of growing people-to-people connections and explored possible emerging areas of collaboration, such as digital economy, carbon trading and renewable energy. They also reiterated their shared  vision for a resilient and united ASEAN and the continued growth of Philippines-Singapore partnership, built on a foundation of trust and mutual aspirations. (END)
