SINGAPORE, 25 February 2025 – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig received this afternoon at the Philippine Embassy Mr. U Zaw Zaw Soe, outgoing Charge d’ Affaires, a.i. of the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Singapore.

Ambassador Macaraig and CDA Zaw Zaw Soe reaffirmed the friendly and cordial relations between the Philippines and Myanmar as fellow ASEAN member states. The outgoing Myanmar Head of Mission also expressed appreciation to Ambassador Macaraig for his assistance and support throughout his one-year stint in Singapore. 

Their discussions covered various aspects of bilateral relations and regional developments, including ASEAN cooperation. They also shared their experiences and fond memories as diplomats serving in Singapore, and the unique opportunities that came with their postings.

Ambassador Macaraig expressed his appreciation for CDA Zaw Zaw Soe’s efforts in strengthening Philippines-Myanmar relations and extended his best wishes as he assumes his new role as Myanmar’s Ambassador to another country. /END
