SINGAPORE, 09 December 2025 – Dr. Anjani K. Sinha, the new US Ambassador to Singapore, paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig on 08 December 2025 at the Official Residence. Ambassador Sinha was accompanied by Mr. Graham Mayer, Deputy Chief of Mission of the US Embassy in Singapore.
During the call, Ambassador Macaraig and Ambassador Sinha discussed the robust and enduring partnership between the Philippines and the United States, as well as key regional developments within ASEAN. The two sides also exchanged views on geopolitical and economic issues shaping the region.
Ambassador Sinha expressed appreciation for the Philippines and the Filipino people, noting their professionalism and dedication. The two ambassadors also discussed the continued growth of two-way tourism and the importance of people-to-people connections in strengthening bilateral ties.
Reaffirming their shared commitment as treaty allies, both Ambassadors underscored their commitment to further deepen Philippines-US relations across political, security, and economic areas.
The Philippines and the US signed the Treaty of Manila on 04 July 1946, which recognized the independence of the Philippines and established diplomatic relations on the same day. Next year marks a significant milestone as the two countries celebrate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of Philippine-American bilateral relations (END).
