SINGAPORE, 6 July 2026 – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig, received a courtesy call from the Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Thailand to Singapore, Mrs. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, at the Philippine Embassy on 2 July 2026.
During the call, the Ambassadors exchanged views on the bilateral relations between the two countries and noted how they both enjoy mutual harmony between their peoples and how diplomatic relations have been positive.
They discussed the continued economic interdependence within ASEAN, and the importance of ASEAN member countries to continue to foster regional cooperation and harmony, particularly amidst global stresses and conflicts that affect the region.
Ambassador Damrongmanee also congratulated Ambassador Macaraig for his efforts to successfully complete the newly built Philippine Embassy.
Prior to her appointment, Ambassador Damrongmanee served as the Deputy Director-General of the Consular Affairs Department at the Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has previously been posted in Russia, China, Australia, and Malaysia. Ambassador Damrongmanee holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Chiang Mai University and a Master’s degree in International Relations from Thammasat University.
The Philippines and Thailand established diplomatic relations on 14 June 1949, and joined the Philippines as the five countries that established ASEAN through the signing of the Bangkok Declaration on 8 August 1967./END
