SINGAPORE, 02 October 2025 – Her Excellency Dana Baschová, the new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Singapore, paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig today at the Philippine Embassy.
In their meeting, the two envoys exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern. Both underscored that diplomacy and constructive international dialogue have become even more vital in the face of ongoing tensions and conflicts in Asia and Europe.
Ambassador Baschová shared that the Czech Republic continues to see value in expanding its engagement beyond Europe, with particular interest in Africa and Asia. Ambassador Macaraig, in turn, emphasized that the Philippines places importance on nurturing its connections with Europe, symbolized by its continuing diplomatic presence in key European capitals, including Prague.
The courtesy call highlighted the commitment of both the Philippines and the Czech Republic to strengthening international cooperation and fostering dialogue across regions.
Ambassador Baschová presented her credentials to President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Istana on 09 September 2025.
This year marks the 52nd anniversary of the formal establishment of bilateral ties between the Philippines and the Czech Republic, with their diplomatic relations forged on 05 October 1973. END.
