PRESS RELEASE | PR-102-2026

SINGAPORE, 13 April 2026 – Mongolian Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Enkhbayar Sosorbaram paid a farewell call on Philippine Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig at the Philippine Embassy on 10 April 2026.

Both Ambassadors reaffirmed their shared interest in further strengthening bilateral relations. They reviewed the current state of Philippines–Mongolia ties and explored practical avenues for closer cooperation, particularly in trade, education, tourism, and diplomatic engagement. Both sides underscored the importance of translating longstanding diplomatic goodwill into more regular and substantive collaboration.

The two sides also exchanged views on broader regional and international developments, highlighting the continued relevance of regional cooperation mechanisms in addressing shared challenges. The meeting concluded on a positive and forward-looking note, with Ambassador Macaraig conveying appreciation for Ambassador Sosorbaram’s contributions during his tenure and extending the Embassy’s full support and camaraderie to his successor.

Ambassador Sosorbaram, who was for a time Mongolia’s non-resident Ambassador to the Philippines, will soon be ending his diplomatic tour of duty in Singapore. He was instrumental in the first high-level engagement between the two countries. He helped arrange the visit of then Philippine Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo to Ulanbaatar in 2024, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Philippines-Mongolia bilateral relations. (END)
