SINGAPORE, 30 June 2026 – On 29 June 2026, Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac and other officials from the Department of Migrant Workers, namely Undersecretary Jainal Rasul Jr., Undersecretary Felicitas Q. Bay, and Assistant Secretary Julyn Ambito-Fermin, joined the Philippine Embassy’s Flag Raising ceremony and met with Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig and other Embassy officials for a bilateral meeting.
At the flag raising ceremony, Ambassador Macaraig proudly presented the Special Commendation Award from the Department of Foreign Affairs for the successful chancery redevelopment, a symbol of excellence in service and dedication to the Filipino Community.
Secretary Cacdac thanked Ambassador Macaraig for his strong leadership and partnership with the Department of Migrant Workers, reaffirming shared commitment in promoting the rights and welfare of overseas Filipino workers in Singapore.
During their meeting, Ambassador Macaraig and Secretary Cacdac discussed updates on the welfare of Filipino workers in Singapore. Ambassador Macaraig highlighted the strong partnership and continued engagement between the Philippines and Singapore in ensuring the rights of Filipino workers.
On Sunday, Secretary Cacdac engaged some members of the Filipino Community for a “Kumustahan” at the Sinagtala Hall of the new Chancery.
The Embassy remains steadfast in working with partner agencies such as the MWO-Singapore, OWWA, SSS and Pag-IBIG to advance the interests of the Filipinos in Singapore. /END
