The Philippine Embassy in Singapore joins the Filipino nation, our brothers and sisters of Catholic faith all around the world, and the Roman Catholic Church, in mourning the passing of His Holiness, Pope Francis, on Easter Monday, 21 April 2025. He was 88 years old.
Pope Francis dedicated his life to serving the Lord and of His Church. The Holy Father is an epitome of compassion, mercy, universal love and humility.
Pope Francis was welcomed by millions of Filipino Catholics during his visit on 15-19 January 2015 in Manila, Tacloban and Leyte, Philippines.
The Filipino Community in Singapore joined Catholics in Singapore in celebrating a Eucharistic mass, officiated by Pope Francis at the National Stadium on 12 September 2024, during his apostolic visit to Singapore, as part of his Asia Pacific tour.
Let us pay tribute and join in silent prayer for the eternal repose of his soul.
A Memorial Mass will be held for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis this afternoon, 22 April 2025, at 1:15 PM at the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd. A livestream of the Mass will be made available at https://live.catholic.sg.
The Mass will be celebrated by the Archbishop of Singapore, His Eminence, Cardinal William Goh.
