PRESS RELEASE | PR-125-2026

SINGAPORE, 22 April 2026 – In celebration of Filipino Food Month (Buwan ng Kalutong Filipino) this April, the Embassy is proud to highlight a major milestone in the Philippine culinary sector with the launch of the The Michelin Guide 2026: Manila & Environs and Cebu Guidebook, a publication that showcases the country’s rich and evolving gastronomic landscape.

The first-ever MICHELIN Guide selection for the Philippines features 108 establishments across Manila, its surrounding areas, and Cebu, a showcase of a diverse range of dining experiences ranging from refined tasting menus to well-loved local eateries.

The inaugural selection includes:

  • 1 Two-MICHELIN-Star restaurant
  • 8 One-MICHELIN-Star restaurants
  • 25 Bib Gourmand establishments, recognized for quality food at accessible prices
  • 74 MICHELIN Selected restaurants representing the breadth of Philippine dining culture

This debut underscores the country’s growing reputation as a global culinary destination, and recognizes the creativity of Filipino chefs as well as the richness of Philippine food traditions.

Apart from the digital guide, an accompanying MICHELIN Pocket Guidebook provides curated recommendations for travelers and food enthusiasts exploring key gastronomic destinations in the country.

The launch of the MICHELIN Guide also supports broader efforts to promote Philippine gastronomy as a pillar of cultural diplomacy and tourism promotion.

As the country celebrates Filipino Food Month under the theme “Connected by Taste: The Filipino Food in the Flavors of ASEAN,” the MICHELIN Guide’s presence affirms the Philippines’ place in the global culinary community — where heritage, innovation, and hospitality converge.

Filipino Food Month is celebrated every April pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 469, which aims to preserve, promote, and celebrate the country’s diverse culinary heritage.
