PRESS RELEASE | PR-244-2025
The Philippine Embassy in Singapore joins the celebration of World Tourism Day this 27 September with the theme “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation”. With over 7,000 islands, the Philippines is not only blessed with diverse beauty, vibrant natural wonders and stunning landscapes, but it also offers unique cultural and gastronomical experiences and adventures. More than that is the distinct and genuine warmth of hospitality of every Filipino.
Tourism is an integral part of the Philippine economy and our sustainable growth. Did you know? Tourism between the Philippines and Singapore is also thriving. Singapore is the Philippines’ 8th top source of tourist arrivals in 2024 at 157,264 and the top ASEAN source of tourists to the Philippines. Filipinos continue to explore and contribute to Singapore’s tourism industry, ranking as its 6th largest visitor market.
As Philippine Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig said, “We have more than 200,000 ambassadors representing the Philippines in Singapore. The Filipino Community serves as cultural and tourism ambassadors in their own way, greatly contributing in promoting Philippine culture and identity overseas.
This World Tourism Day, the Philippine Embassy invites our kababayans to continue promoting our Philippine tourism. Share a picture of a tourist destination in your province and a short description of what to love about that place. Help us invite foreign visitors to experience the Philippines.
