SINGAPORE, 17 July 2026 – The First Lady of the Republic of the Philippines, Mme. Louise Araneta‑Marcos inaugurated the Sentro Rizal Singapore Library located at the new Philippine Chancery at 20 Nassim Road on 16 July 2026.

The library is the newest facility of the Sentro Rizal Singapore, relaunched earlier this year through Pasinaya on 9 January 2026, and forms part of the Embassy’s celebration of 15 years  of Sentro Rizal, the Philippines’ flagship cultural institution overseas.  

The Sentro Rizal Library houses a wide-ranging collection of books on Philippine culture and the arts, history, national identity, politics and bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore. Complementing these are carefully curated artwork selections and cultural pieces, which delighted the First Lady. She noted that the collections truly embody Sentro Rizal’s mission as a hub for promoting Philippine culture, history, and the arts – providing Filipinos and friends of the Philippines in Singapore with a dedicated space to engage with the nation’s rich heritage.

First Lady Liza Marcos remarked, “A library is more than a collection of books — it is a bridge to home. I am honored to inaugurate the Sentro Rizal Library at the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, where our kababayans can celebrate our history, culture and identity. May this space continue to inspire pride in who we are and remind every Filipino that home is never too far away”.  

She also congratulated the Embassy for the thoughtful planning and successful completion of  its new home, and commended its Tuloy po kayo! Initiative as a meaningful gesture of welcome and inclusivity for the Filipino community and guests alike.

The First Lady was in Singapore to accompany President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who undertook a Working Visit on 14-16 July 2026. While in Singapore, President Marcos called on  Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, met with investors and business executives, and addressed a private roundtable co-hosted by the Embassy with Milken Institute. The First Lady also engaged 

global business leaders and dignitaries at the Global Economic Cooperation (GEC) East Summit.

The Embassy warmly invites kababayans and the wider community to visit the Sentro Rizal Library, now open to the public, by appointment through phinsg.com/sentrosg, to explore its collection on Philippine history, literature, arts and culture. Visitors may also join the “Tuloy po Kayo!” Embassy Guided Tour (phinsg.com/tpkvisit) to view the Embassy’s art collections, and experience the stories of Philippine creativity and identity. 

Looking ahead, the Embassy will commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sentro Rizal Singapore in 2027, marking a decade since its first launch on 15 September 2017./END
