SINGAPORE, 05 August 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore is pleased to share the receipt of a generous donation of a batch of Filipiniana publications from First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos, who inaugurated the Sentro Rizal Library during her visit to Singapore on 16 July 2026. Comprising more than 50 books on Philippine history, culture, and a selection of children’s literature, the donation enriches the Library’s growing collection and expands the range of resources available to its visitors.

The donation complements the Library’s collection of Filipiniana materials, which includes works on Dr. Jose Rizal; facsimile editions of Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo; Philippine history; visual arts, culture, and heritage; reference works on Philippine National Artists; biographies of notable Filipinos; culinary traditions and tourism; political and economic publications; Singapore-related resources; and many other titles that showcase the richness and diversity of the Philippines.

The collection features works authored by the country’s foremost scholars, historians, artists, cultural workers, and industry practitioners, offering readers authoritative perspectives and firsthand insights across a wide range of disciplines.

The Sentro Rizal Library serves as the Philippine Embassy’s cultural and educational hub in Singapore. It supports programs that promote the Filipino language, literature, history, and the arts among overseas Filipinos and friends of the Philippines. Since its inauguration, it has welcomed students and visitors through the Embassy’s cultural and educational activities, including the “Tuloy Po Kayo” educational tours.
