PRESS RELEASE | PR-048-2026
SINGAPORE, 2 March 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore successfully launched its first Extended Friday Consular and Labor Services Program on 27 February 2026.
Every last Friday of the month this year, the extended service hours until 8:30 PM intends to better accommodate Filipinos who are unable to visit the Embassy during regular weekday hours.
During its inaugural run, the Embassy served nearly 700 clients for labor services (including contract verification and OWWA assistance) and consular services (such as passport processing, civil registry, notarials, document release, and overseas voter registration). This strong turnout reflects the Filipino community’s positive response to the new schedule and its relevance to their needs.
The initiative aligns with recent regulatory changes, such as the removal of contract verification requirements for workers under the same employer, the expansion of online services including the issuance of Overseas Employment Certificates (OEC), and the strengthening of digital communication platforms for general inquiries and records verification of partner agencies like the SSS and Pag-Ibig whatsapp messaging services.
The Embassy remains committed to ensuring that every Filipino in Singapore has access to timely and responsive consular and labor services, which, in this case, is made through the provision of extra service hours beyond the standard schedule.
The next extended Friday service is scheduled for 27 March 2026.
