Singapore, 21 July 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore extends its warmest congratulations to the young Filipino musicians who garnered awards at the 2025 Music Singapore International Competition held from 17 to 20 July 2025. The celebration culminated in a distinguished Awarding Ceremony and Gala Concert held on the last day at the SOTA (School of the Arts) Concert Hall.
Representing the Philippines with excellence were students from Camp Jam Performing Arts School, under the guidance of its founders, Ms. Hannah Valdez and Dr. Jhames F. Labrador, both violinists of the University of the Philippines Symphony Orchestra. The Filipino participants received top honors in Music Theory, Piano, Violin and Ensemble categories. Several first-prize winners were invited to perform at the Gala Concert.
Ahead of the competition, the Philippine delegation was received at the Embassy on 17 July 2025 by Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig, Second Secretary and Consul Renee Gayle M. Chua, and Cultural Officer Ms. Rosellie Bantay. Ambassador Macaraig expressed his support and encouragement to the young musicians.
Founded in 2020, Music Singapore International Competition is a leading annual event for young musicians that offers both virtual and in-person performance opportunities. The 2025 edition welcomed participants from ASEAN countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, and Hong Kong, and featured new categories including cello and flute alongside piano, violin, and ensemble.
