SINGAPORE, 23 July 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore proudly congratulates the Philippine contingent to the 2026 Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) held at the  Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre from 17 July to 21 July 2026. The awarding ceremony on 22 July 2026 was graced by Second Secretary and Consul Renee Gayle M. Chua, Head of the Cultural and Filipino Community Section of the Embassy.  

Represented by 14 young Filipino students, the Philippine team showcased exceptional problem-solving skills in both the individual (Math Olympiad) and team categories (Math Warriors and Math Mind Master). The Philippines collectively brought home 19 awards: 6 gold medals, 6 silver medals, 6 bronze medals and 1 honorable mention. 

A special highlight was the achievement of 12-year-old Lebron James B. Pornillos of General Trias City, Cavite, who earned two gold awards (Math Olympiad-Individual and Math Master Mind-Team), one silver medal (Math Warriors-Team), and emerged as the Overall Runner-up in the Grade 6 category. His three international awards is the highest number secured by a single member of the Philippine Team reflecting an extraordinary mathematical ability, teamwork, and consistency throughout the competition.

The Embassy extends its heartfelt congratulations to the entire Philippine contingent, their parents, their educators, and the Asian MathSci League, Inc. (AMSLI) for their dedication and excellence, which continue to bring immense pride for our country.

This year’s SIMOC gathered 2,285 student competitors from 1,113 schools  across 40 countries and territories, underscoring the global scale of the competition. In 2025, the 35-member Philippine contingent won 31 medals, a testament to the Philippines’ growing strength in international mathematics competitions.
