SINGAPORE, 10 September 2025 – Filipino students from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) paid a courtesy call on Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig, at the Embassy of the Philippines on 09 September 2025.
During the visit, the students shared insights about their academic courses and experiences at NUS-LKYSPP. Ambassador Macaraig, in turn, shared his experiences in the foreign service and encouraged the students to consider taking the Philippine Foreign Service Officer Examination. He also shared an overview of the current Philippine economy and political landscape, emphasizing ongoing reforms and development initiatives that aim to strengthen the country’s position in the region.
The discussion extended to ASEAN, where the Ambassador underscored the organization’s vital role in regional integration, cooperation, and stability. He also spoke about the large diaspora of Filipinos in Singapore, affirming their significant contributions to the country and underscoring the Embassy’s commitment to their welfare.
Finally, the Ambassador presented the students with a copy of the Embassy’s publication, Making a Mark on the Little Red Dot: Trailblazing Filipino Entrepreneurs in Singapore, a compilation that celebrates the inspiring life stories of Filipinos who have excelled as entrepreneurs and pioneers in Singapore (END).
