PRESS RELEASE | PR-211-2025
19 August 2025, Singapore – Over 10,000 Filipinos living and working in Singapore gathered at Suntec Convention Centre on 17 August 2025, for the Fiesta ng Pamilyang Pilipino 2025. The day-long festival, filled with music, performances, food, games, and community activities, was a vibrant celebration of Filipino talent, culture, and bayanihan spirit.
What started last year as the much-awaited return of the Fiesta at the Bayanihan Centre grew this year into a bigger celebration at Suntec and brought together thousands of Filipinos under one roof. Organized by the Filipino community in Singapore, the event carried the theme “Fiesta ng Pamilyang Pilipino”, this time highlighting the sense of family that binds Filipinos together in Singapore.
The celebration began with a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Romeo Yu Chang, followed by a colorful opening number that showcased Philippine traditional dances from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
In his welcome remarks, Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig commended the Filipino community for organizing the fiesta on such a large scale, and emphasized that aside from it being a celebration that reflects identity, unity, and shared pride as Filipinos, it is a testament to the bayanihan spirit that continues to thrive within the community in Singapore.
Celebrating the richness of Filipino talent in Singapore, the program brought to the stage two major community-led competitions namely, Pilipinas Got Talent (PGT) Collab and Pinoy Power, which united some of the best Filipino performers in Singapore. As an added cultural highlight, the event included a performance by Pundaquit Virtuosi, an acclaimed Philippine-based youth orchestra, who joined the Fiesta ahead of their participation in the Global Arts Festival.
Later that afternoon, social media star Donnalyn Bartolome thrilled the audience with an interactive performance, while award-winning comedian Mr. Alex Calleja added colorful humor to the festivities.
True to its Fiesta theme, the celebration also recreated the familiar sights and sounds of the Filipino perya, with booths offering games such as ring toss, beto-beto (color game), toss coin, and tub ball toss, and food samplings from Embassy Foodtrek partners Lechon Pinoy, Nanay’s Kitchen, Second Serving, Prime Food Marketing, and Avocadoria.
The Philippine Embassy had a booth that drew long lines, with participants spinning the wheel for a chance to win giveaways. The Embassy booth also showcased the book “Making a Mark in the Little Red Dot: Trailblazing Entrepreneurs in Singapore”, a book that highlights inspiring journeys of Filipino entrepreneurs in Singapore. Thirty lucky attendees brought home their own complimentary copies of the book. Participants also visited service booths from partner government agencies, namely, MWO, OWWA, SSS, PAG-IBIG, and PhilHealth which provided information, assistance, and giveaways to the community.
Another special feature of this year’s Fiesta was the inclusion of talks, booths, and sharing sessions on business opportunities, all of which encouraged overseas Filipinos in Singapore to explore ways of further supporting their families back home, and even towards eventually creating pathways to return and reintegrate in the Philippines.
The Fiesta ng Pamilyang Pilipino 2025 concluded with the announcement of winners from the talent competitions and raffle draws, as well as a community photo session which captured the joyful spirit of the gathering.
The Philippine Embassy extends its heartfelt thanks to the FilCom Executive Committee, the Committee Heads, sponsors, partners, and volunteers whose dedication and support made this year’s Fiesta possible. The Embassy looks forward to supporting more opportunities for Filipinos in Singapore to come together, celebrate their culture, and strengthen their community ties. /END
