PRESS RELEASE | PR-156-2026

SINGAPORE, 17 May 2026 – The Filipino community in Singapore gathered in the early morning of Sunday, 17 May 2026 for PAL Run 2026 powered by the Business Network Group (BNG), held at Arena Park outside the OCBC Arena in Singapore.

Organized by the BNG, a network of Filipino and Filipino-run businesses in Singapore and spearheaded this year by Philippine Airlines (PAL) in celebration of its 85th Anniversary, the annual community run brought together 1,500 Filipinos and friends of the Philippines in Singapore in support of fitness, camaraderie, and community engagement. This year’s edition marked the largest turnout in the history of the BNG Run series, drawing nearly double the number of participants from previous years’ events.

The BNG Run, established in 2018 by seven Filipino companies in Singapore — HFSE Global Education Group, MDCruz, Megaworld, LBC Singapore, Noblelife, Philippine National Bank, and Philippine Airlines — has since become a regular community event promoting wellness and solidarity among overseas Filipinos.

For the first time since its inception, this year’s run featured a competitive segment for 21k and 10k races, adding a new dimension to the event. The PAL Run also offered 5k and 3k races, ensuring inclusivity for participants of varying fitness levels and interests.

Consul General Joyleen E. Santos of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore gave her welcome remarks and led the ceremonial flag-off of runners and participants. In her remarks she noted how the BNG Run has evolved into “a meaningful community tradition that brings Filipinos together through fitness, friendship, teamwork, and shared purpose.” Consul General Santos also congratulated Philippine Airlines on its 85th Anniversary, and recognized its longstanding role in connecting Filipinos across countries and communities. “Events like this remind us of the strength of our community abroad — active, supportive, and united,” the Consul General said.

The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, whose personnel also participated in races ranging from 3K to 21K, commends the organizers, sponsors, volunteers, and participants for the successful conduct of the event and for their continued efforts in fostering unity within the Filipino community in Singapore. /END
