PRESS RELEASE | PR-079-2026
SINGAPORE, 23 March 2026 – The Philippine Embassy launched on Friday the first edition of its 2026 OFW Handbook – a digital guide for newly-arrived overseas Filipinos in Singapore.
The handbook contains practical information about Singapore, an overview of the consular and labor services that kababayans may avail of from the Embassy and its partner agencies, including the Migrant Workers Office (MWO)-Singapore, Overseas Worker Welfare Administration (OWWA)-Singapore, Pag-IBIG and SSS, among other topics.
Each year, new waves of Filipino workers arrive in Singapore. With an estimate of more than 220,000 Filipinos living and working in Singapore, of whom 60% are professionals/skilled workers in various sectors, and 40% are employed in household service roles, Singapore has now become a second home where our kababayans continue to grow, contribute, and thrive.
The aim of the handbook is to help newly-arrived Filipino workers settle into a life in Singapore, including those who are planning to work or study in Singapore.
The 2026 OFW Handbook was launched during the 1st Quarterly Ugnayan with members of the Filipino Community. Consul General Joyleen E. Santos, who presented the digital guide, encouraged kababayans, including those who have long been living and working in Singapore, to read the handbook as it also provides information on reintegration programs.
This is the second digital guidebook released by the Embassy this year, complementing the Travel Guide for Filipino short-term visitors to Singapore which was released in January 2026.
Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig underscored these initiatives as part of the Embassy’s commitment to promoting the interests and welfare of Filipinos overseas.
