SINGAPORE, 10 July 2026 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, led by Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig, together with its attached agencies, bid farewell to Second Secretary and Consul Jhullie Anne A. Beniahan who will conclude her six-year tour of duty in Singapore on 14 July 2026. 

Consul Beniahan arrived at Post in July 2020 and headed various Embassy sections and served in multiple capacities. Prior to her current role as Head of the Political and Economic Section, she led the Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) Section and Filipino Community Relations Section.

Her notable achievements include spearheading the ATN Section at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, organizing the Embassy’s quarterly Ugnayan with members of the Filipino Community, and leading the Embassy’s Gender and Development (GAD) activities as focal person. She also contributed as a writer to the Embassy’s first book project, Making A Mark on the Little Red Dot: Trailblazing Filipino Entrepreneurs in Singapore. Most recently, she finalized the Embassy’s compendium of bilateral agreements between the Philippines and Singapore, formally launched on 10 July 2026. 

A career diplomat with more than a decade of foreign service experience, Consul Beniahan previously taught philosophy at the Philippine Military Academy, Miriam College, and De La Salle–College of St. Benilde before joining the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

In his remarks, Ambassador Macaraig conveyed his best wishes on her new assignment at the DFA and expressed gratitude for her outstanding contributions to strengthening bilateral relations with Singapore and in fostering close ties with the Filipino Community. /END
