SINGAPORE, 21 March 2025 – The Philippine Embassy in Singapore, led by Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig, together with its attached agencies, bid farewell to Deputy Head of Mission and Consul General Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, who will be leaving for Pakistan on 22 March 2025 to assume his new assignment as Ambassador-designate of the Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of Pakistan with concurrent jurisdiction over Afghanistan.
Dr. Fernandez is a career diplomat, with twenty-five years of experience in the Philippine foreign service, having joined the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in January 2000. He arrived in Singapore in April 2022, and, from July 2022 to January 2023, served as Charge d’ Affaires, a.i. of the Philippine Embassy
On 20 March 2025, Ambassador Macaraig hosted a Diplomatic Farewell Reception in honor of Consul General and Mrs. Alicia Fernandez at the Official Residence. The Dinner was attended by Heads of Missions and Deputies of ASEAN Missions, , and colleagues from the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as other diplomatic missions.
The Embassy expresses its utmost appreciation to Consul General Fernandez for his unwavering support to the Embassy and the Filipino Community in Singapore. His wisdom, leadership, and contribution to the Filipino Community, including the Embassy-published book, “Making a Mark in the Little Red Dot: Trailblazing Filipino Entrepreneurs in Singapore”, will continue to inspire every Filipino here and abroad.
