SINGAPORE, 31 October 2025— Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig welcomed members of Broadway Youth Cebu (BYC) during a courtesy call at the Philippine Embassy on Thursday, 30 October 2025. BYC is in Singapore for their one-night performance of “A Whole New Broadway World: A Musical Revue Celebrating Global Diversity” at the Aliwal Arts Centre on 31 October 2025.
Composed of 24 young performers aged 13 and above, the group was joined by their directors, led by Mr. Allan Nazareno, parents, and Singapore-based producers KJem Academy and Pamela Wildheart Pilapil.
During the call, Ambassador Macaraig encouraged the group to make the Philippines proud by showcasing their talents abroad, while also inviting audiences to experience the country’s vibrant arts and culture scene. He also shared highlights of the strong and growing bilateral relations between the Philippines and Singapore in response to questions from the participants.
The youth ensemble delighted the Embassy with a stirring rendition of “Circle of Life” from The Lion King musical.
