SINGAPORE, 19 October 2025 – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore Medardo G. Macaraig welcomed Mr. Mark Ocampo, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Auro Chocolate, a proudly Filipino tree-to-bar social enterprise that champions sustainability, craftsmanship, and Filipino culture through world-class chocolate.

During the courtesy call on Friday, 17 October, Mr. Ocampo presented Auro’s milestones and underscored its mission to uplift local farming communities in the Philippines. He highlighted Auro’s international collaborations, including its recent Paris Fashion Week participation with Vogue Philippines under Vogue Threads in Paris, where its South Sea pearl-inspired “pearl chocolates”, made from Philippine-origin cacao sourced from Davao farmers, celebrate Filipino artistry by merging fine food, fashion, and culture. 

He also shared that Auro continues to expand its global footprint through partnerships with luxury brands like Cartier, and creative collaborations such as SNA’AP, the viral Dubai and Manila Chocolate line co-developed with Filipino pastry chef Nouel Catis, now among Auro’s fastest-selling products.

Ambassador Macaraig, in turn, recalled collaborations in Singapore featuring Philippine-made chocolates, such as the Cebu-based artisanal brand The Chocolate Chamber, as well as the use of Philippine-sourced cacao by renowned Singaporean chocolatier Chef Janice Wong, who has featured beans from Davao in her single-origin creations. The Ambassador expressed hope that Singapore will source more fine chocolates from the Philippines, recognizing the country’s reputation for premium quality cacao and chocolate craftsmanship.

Mr Ocampo presented the Ambassador with the best-selling SNA’AP Dubai & Manila Chocolate bars, which aptly symbolize the brand’s success in blending global trends with Filipino heritage. Accompanying Auro in the call was Mr. Benjamin Ong and Ms. Chrislyn Ong of Prime Foods Marketing Pte. Ltd., Auro’s official Singapore distributor.

Mr. Ocampo is currently in the city-state for Vogue Singapore’s award-winning landmark event, NEXT IN VOGUE, which returns for its third edition this 2025.
