SINGAPORE, 24 July 2026 – Ambassador Medardo G. Macaraig joined the Philippine delegation led by Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, Senior Official Meeting (SOM) Leader for Education Dr. Carmela C. Oracion, Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairperson Shirley C. Agrupis at the Opening Ceremony of the 14th ASEAN Education Ministers’ Meeting (ASED) and Related Meetings in Singapore held on 22 July 2026 at the Shangri-La Hotel.

At the Opening Ceremony, Ambassador Macaraig witnessed the launch of the ASEAN Five-Year Work Plan on Education (2026-2030). In his engagement with the Philippine delegation, Ambassador Macaraig was pleased to note the landmark Philippine-led deliverables that will be adopted in the upcoming ASEAN Summit in Manila in November 2026.

Later that afternoon, Ambassador Macaraig welcomed CHED Chairperson Agrupis for a courtesy call at the Philippine Embassy, continuing discussions on strengthening education collaboration.
