SINGAPORE, 1 April 2025 – Philippine Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Medardo G. Macaraig signed the book of condolences at the Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Singapore this morning, expressing the Philippine Government’s sympathies and solidarity with the people of Myanmar following the devastation caused by the recent 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck Myanmar and Thailand on 28 March 2025.

In response to the humanitarian crisis, the Philippine government is sending a Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response (HADR) mission to Myanmar. This afternoon, two (2)  C-130 planes of the Philippine Air Force landed at Nay Pyi Taw Airport in Myanmar after refueling at Phitsanulok Airport in Thailand. This is the first batch of the Philippine Inter-agency Humanitarian Contingent that will conduct a medical and search and rescue mission to those affected by the earthquake. /END
