Ambassador Macaraig Reaffirms PH Commitment to Steering ASEAN at the Inaugural NUS-CIL Distinguished Speakers Series
Philippine Ambassador to Singapore, H.E. Medardo Antonio G. Macaraig, delivered the inaugural lecture at the Distinguished Speakers Series of the National University of Singapore’s Centre for International Law (NUS-CIL) on 09 April 2026.
At the lecture, Ambassador Medardo Antonio G. Macaraig shared the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship vision: Navigating Our Future, Together. Anchored on peace and security, prosperity, and people empowerment, the Philippines reaffirms ASEAN’s unity and centrality in shaping a resilient, inclusive Indo-Pacific.
Held at the NUS Bukit Timah Campus, the event drew a strong and diverse audience composed of members of the diplomatic corps, academe, and leading think tanks, underscoring the high level of interest in the Philippines’ role as ASEAN Chair in 2026 and in the broader regional outlook.
